Natural Pools Circuit

The Natural Pools of Búzios

The Natural Pools Circuit, in Búzios, is a unique experience that begins at the Costa do Sol State Park entrance and continues through the native forest to the hidden Enseada das Poças. The natural pools form on the rocky shore between Ferradura and Amores beaches. After the high tide, the geological “faults” (which could easily be called “perfections”) are covered by seawater, forming incredible pools!

Natural Pools Circuit - Búzios

The natural pools of Enseada das Poças

Amidst the trails that connect the popular beaches of Ferradura and Ferradurinha, there is an infinity of untouched scenery and unique beauties. To explore them, the presence of a guide is essential, both because of the lack of signage and the degree of difficulty – intermediate/moderate.

The Natural Pools route goes beyond the landscape that gives the circuit its name. It also includes Pedra do Guardião (Guardian Stone) and Praia dos Amores (Amores Beach), totaling a 3.5km walk. The tour lasts about 3 to 4 hours due to the refreshing baths in Enseada das Poças (natural pools) and Praia dos Amores, in addition to the possibilities of beautiful records and the perfect environments for contemplation and rest.

Natural Pool Circuit Attractions

Pedra do Guardião (Guardian Stone)

The first stop of the circuit, which begins at the entrance to the Costa do Sol State Park, takes place in a scenario full of walls and immense cliffs with the blue sea in the background. There, the main attraction is the Pedra do Guardião (Guadian Stone), a rocky formation carefully sculpted that resembles the face of a man. A geological reference point, the environment invites you to explore the rocks until you reach the “breather”, a kind of viewpoint between the stones. There, the order is to sit a little, relax and contemplate.

Natural Pools

The natural pools appear at low tide, amid the rock formations in the region, and are perfect for bathing and photographic records. Depending on the height of the waves, salt water waterfalls are formed between the rocks, providing a spectacle of immense beauty. To take a bath, you must pay attention to the guide’s guidelines to avoid places with sea urchins.

Praia dos Amores (Amores Beach)

Charming and exclusive, the beach has a small strip of sand and offers shade under the almond trees. Submerged slabs a few meters from the sand are suitable for snorkeling because of the numerous fish and turtles that live there. A walk along the rocks leads to Ferradurinha beach.
