The highest point of Buzios
Serra das Emerências is the highest point in Búzios and one of the most beautiful natural attractions on the peninsula. Still little explored by visitors, the top of the mountain reveals a beautiful landscape with the beach of Tucuns and Geribá in the background, and on the other hand, the extensive beach of Peró, in Cabo Frio.

The beautiful view of Serra das Emerências
Highest point in Búzios, with 164 meters of altitude, Serra das Emerências is one of the most beautiful natural attractions on the peninsula. From up there it is possible to have an amazing view of the Lagos (Lakes) Region. From the top of the mountain, on one side, you can see the wild beach of Tucuns, with Geribá in the background, and on the other, the extensive beach of Peró, in Cabo Frio. The place is also a point for those who want to go hang gliding or take a tandem paragliding flight, an activity that can be done even by those with no experience.
About Serra das Emerências trail
The adventure begins in the rural district of José Gonçalves, where the trail begins, which lasts about forty minutes.
The entire walk takes place inside the Costa do Sol State Park and APA Pau-Brasil, habitat for tamarins, monkeys, sloths and birds of different species. In addition to native vegetation with gigantic trees, many cacti and bromeliads, forming a beautiful mix of Atlantic forest, caatinga and restinga.
Of easy level, with lots of green and shade, the trail reveals some viewpoints along the way, which reveal the Serra do Mar, Cabo Frio and the immensity of the Pau-Brasil APA valley.
Take the trail at sunset
A very interesting option is to take the tour at the end of the day, to watch the sunset from the top of the Serra das Emerências. A really beautiful experience.
